Arepas are typical Colombian flatbreads from the Antioquia region. They are usually eaten warm for breakfast. They are often accompanied by butter, cheese or fruit and a cup of hot chocolate. You can also enjoy arepas as a starter with any topping.
Mix all ingredients to a dough, let rest for 5 min.
Knead for 3 min. with moistened hands.
Divide the dough into four portions and roll into balls.
Heat a non-stick frying pan without oil.
Place the portions between two sheets of plastic wrap and press them about 1 cm thin with a flat object. Transport them directly on the foil to the pan and lift them into the pan with the spatula.
