Excursion: Ventisquero Colgante

The Parque Nacional Queulat offers a lot to see. There are treks all around the park, but the protagonist is the Ventisquero Colgante. The only problem is, how to get there.

The nearest village is Puyuhuapi, which also offers some smaller treks, but the connections are only a few. There is the regular bus that leaves for the south at 7am and returns at 7pm (or nine…). If you don’t want to get up early and hitchhiking is no option for you, here is your options:

The Experiencia Austral has a daily tour to the Glacier, but it’s full very fast. So the owner of the hostel and minimarket Carretera Austral also drives you to the starting point of the Glacier trek, if there are enough people. For the same price of around 11$. You can do the trek, while he waits and return at a time you chose before. The Park entrance is 8$.

I stayed at the Residencial Valentina, which I wouldn’t recommend.
