What to see in El Bolsón and Esquel
If you are in El Bolsón you should definitely take your time for a hike. For example you could
go to the cabeza del indio or to the Lago puelo park, but there are many more options. I didn’t have time and it’s a pity. Another thing to see is the weekly market with a lot of regional art craft and food. They say El Bolsón is a Hippie town, I didn’t had this impression.
I did couchsurfing and they had an asado because it was weekend. They made an omelet for me and I ate a lot of chimichurri with bread. They ate so much meat I got sick by watching them.
In Esquel you should visit the parque nacional los Alerces for a more day trek. If you have money you can also take a ride with the old train, but it’s too expensive for what it is. Especially if your European. A day trip to Trevelin is also nice but don’t expect too much. And I guess the welsh cakes are not vegan and you anyway feel sick afterwards because they serve so much and it’s way too sweet.
I stayed at the Casa del Pueblo, a nice confusing hostel. They serve standard Argentine breakfast, toast, jam or dulce de leche, tea or coffee.
